hillington submitted for planning

28th March 2012: Our proposals for Hillington Square estate regeneration, for Freebridge Community Housing, have been submitted for full detailed planning permission. The 319 unit estate will undergo major refurbishment with new landscape, alongside internal and external remodelling.


 

Mæ training for new clients

1st December 2012: Mæ has been continuing its work running design training events. This month we have delivered 'Customer and Client Training in Preparation for Design Advisory Panel' for The Home Group in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, the 'Neighbourhood by Design' training course for the Glass-House in Basingstoke and 'The Mayor's Housing Design Guide training' for Urban Design London.


 

runwell hospital site masterplan

28th November 2011: mæ has been competitively selected, with partners Atkins, to develop a masterplan and outline planning application for the former Runwell mental hospital site near Chelmsford. Working for the Homes and Communities Agency the team will plan the 65 hectare site to accommodate around 600 new homes, new landscaped spaces, amenities and associated infrastructure.


 

RIBA Homewise campaign

13th October 2011: Mæ Partner Alex Ely spoke at the RIBA Housing Conference at Robinson College, Cambridge University. The event was part of the RIBA's campaign to improve the quality of the nation's new build housing. You can read a transcript of Alex's talk in this blog page.


 

hillington square consultation begins

19th September 2011: The concept design for the new Hillington Square was unveiled at King's Lynn's historic Guildhall today, marking the start of a month long public consultation. mae Partner Alex Ely presented the proposed scheme to residents and the local community who now have four weeks in which to give feedback before it is submitted for planning approval. The designs are on display in the offices of both Freebridge Community Housing and the Borough Council of King's Lynn & West Norfolk until the end of October.
